我要感谢璞园队，经过这一场比赛，我相信，我们的队员更清晰的意识到，必须对本身有所坚持，尤其是在对拚的当儿，我们队员本身的思想意识一定要无比的坚定，从而鞭策自己勇往直前。

我们的队员在上半场，当被对手拉开比分后，开始陷入犹疑与畏惧，所以，我们出现了很多失误，让璞园队拿了很多便宜分数。我认为，璞园队的演出实在太好了，尤其外投非常的准，如果他们的命中率不会那么高的话，我们或许还有再次迫近的机会。

我在半场休息时向球员强调，我们必须要有更强烈的欲望，才能收窄落后的差距。赛前，我预定的目标是尽可能少输，只要不输过20分，我已经知足。 从战胜中国珠海、中国香港和不敌璞园的三场比赛来看，我认为，我们的明显的弱点，是我们队员的力量不及三者，然而，在战术上，包括即将对垒的菲律宾和韩国队，我们可以看到这些队伍有着明显的球路风格。在这几个球路风格当中，我个人认为韩、台会比较适合我们去跟从。

所以，在我执掌国家队之后，从心态上，我向队员灌输要有坚强的信念，在技术上，我要求队员更积极的开发技术的多面性，我希望他们不论高矮、不论中锋或后卫或前锋，他们都需要具备每个位置所需要的技术。 而在身体条件上，我们必须加强力量的对抗，提高体能以面对更快速的奔跑，不间断的变速来回能力，这是国家队今后要走的方向。

I believe that our players learned, from last night's experience, the importance of persistence, especially when the going gets tough. Even when we are down, we have to push on and fight. Our players started to doubt themselves when our opponents started to pull away, resulting in a flurry of turnovers, allowing the Pure Youth team many easy baskets.

I feel that the Pure Youth team played a very good game, and shot extremely well from the perimeter, making it near impossible for us to get back into the game. I had emphasized to my boys during halftime that we had to have a stronger will in order to cut into the Taiwanese lead. My target for the team before the game was to keep the score within 20 points.

Compared to the other three teams we have played against, I could see that our boys were physically out-matched in every game. I have also noticed that every team has its own distinct playing style, and out of all these teams, the Korean and Taiwanese styles are the most apt for us to mimic.

After I took over the National team, I have tried to instill in my players a stronger will to win. I also stressed to them the importance of being versatile on the court, and for them to have the skills to play every position, regardless of height or designated position. We also have to become physically stronger and fitter to be able to go up and down the court without tiring easily. I feel this is the direction our national team training should take in the future.

I'm quite pleased with the performance of the team tonight because every player did what they were supposed to. As a coach, there are few pleasures greater than seeing your team meeting your expectations. The fact that they won the game is even better. I think this will be a good morale booster for the team as they will be playing against the Hong Kong squad tomorrow.

From the game against Korea, I can see that the Hong Kong team has great fighting spirit. Also, their players are very well-built and strong. With a twelve-player rotation, everybody is fighting for a chance to play and perform well.

Of course, I also used a twelve-player rotation against the Chinese today. I have yet to really sit down and think through how we will deal with the Hong Kong team tomorrow but I am proud of my boys and how they did tonight.

My four youngsters did not disappoint at all. Although Gan Hong Hoong seemed nervous at times, I feel he did well for a rookie. Ho Yeow Loong has showed he has the potential to lead the team and Loh Shee Fai managed to keep his cool and knock down two 3-pointers during a crucial juncture in the game.

Yeow Loong is a very quick player and he managed to push the pace of the game with his speed. The two young towers, Kwaan Yong Jing and Kuek Tian Yuan have also shined tonight.

I hope that these two boys will gain some confidence from tonight's game and be even more motivated to fight and win. They can't possibly remain at the standard of the state teams, giving up whenever the going gets tough.

I can see that they are improving though, and I feel that the best part of tonight's victory is seeing my youngsters showing their fighting spirit and playing to the best of their ability.

I suppose that's the advantage of picking young players, as they inject a new level of competitiveness and energy to the team.

迎接国际邀请赛的第一仗，我在开赛前一直寻思该如何应对中国珠海这支队伍，但是，因为对他们的了解实在很有限，而且，从名单上来说，他们也换了一些队员，实力会到什么程度， 比赛的难度又会到哪里，心理实在没底。

以国际邀请赛的水平来说，我深信，珠海这支球队会有很多的亮点。所以，临近出赛的这些天，我在训练的工作上，侧重在防守。我希望我的球员能够发挥有效的防守，这么一来，才会 有希望打开进攻。

坦白说，在自家门前打比赛，我仍然感到些许压力。如果说没有压力，那是骗人的。我当然也会担心，球队打不好，会招惹球迷的批评。 做为教练，有这种压力是寻常事，可是，做为球员，我希望我的队员能够轻松上阵，好好的享受这一场比赛。

这个队，我特别点选了4个年轻球员，他们都没有太好的国际赛经验，说到底，我是带他们来练兵的。所以，我对他们没有太多的要求。 他们当中，可能有些人急于表现自己，不过，我想，新秀们应该抱着平常心看待这次的机会，希望他们能够简单的处理球，别想得太复杂，我想，只有这样才能减去他们的压力，也免除 不必要的思想包袱。

I've been spending a lot of time thinking about how to deal with the Chinese team during opening night, because our understanding of their strengths and weaknesses, as well as team strategies is quite limited. They've also changed up some of their players from when we last played against them so it is really quite hard to anticipate what we will be up against.

I believe that this Chinese team will shine on an international stage. With the tournament fast approaching, I have emphasized defense during our team's training. I hope that my players will be able to play a good defensive game, because we need a sound defense to kick-start our offense.

To be honest, there is a certain amount of pressure playing in front of a home crowd. I would be lying if I said otherwise. It's only natural that I would be worried, to some extent, of the criticism we may face if our performance is not up to standard. As a coach, such pressure in inevitable, but I hope that the players themselves will be able to relax and enjoy the game.

I chose 4 young players with very little international exposure for this team mainly to allow them to gain valuable experience and improve their game. I do hold overly high expectations for them, and only hope that they learn something from this.

I know that some of them are eager to prove themselves but I feel that as young players, they should approach this tournament just as they do any other game and not put too much pressure on themselves. I would like them to play without thinking too much and just take good care of the basketball.
